Spring Of Hope By Salim Elias Madalo

From the springs of hope
I hear a sweet song
sweet memories
spilling from your lips
Meanwhile I shield
the doves of my dreams
from the peregrine falcons
the eagles and the hawks
I offer the butterflies of your soul
blossoms of joy
And I shall lean in
just a little
so that a ray of the rainbow
may seep into the very cells of your heart
A waking the slumbering
Nightingales within your heart
to begin their song
My own lips hum
a hymn of love and longing
while my heart overflows with adoration
Then I move on
toward an electric pole
pausing to contemplate a dove
perched upon a wire
Smiles a joyful smile
at the rainbow
And at rain droplets
