Bloom Beyond Jealousy  – Dr Haroon Rashid

رجل يرتدي بدلة زرقاء مع قميص أسود، يظهر أمام خلفية شعار الأمم المتحدة.

I have watched envy flicker in someone’s eyes,

and instead of anger, I feel tenderness.

I want to hug those burning with jealousy,

feel their warmth,

and understand the quiet storms raging behind their gaze.

Without a word, I wish I could look into their eyes and say,

“Don’t be jealous. Don’t envy anyone.”

Jealousy only burns your own candle at both ends,

turning your light into smoke,

wasting your energy, your joy, your spark.

Watching someone wrestle to outshine a glow they cannot stop staring at

is like seeing a child frown at the moon for being brighter,

or a river trying to block the sun with its own ripples.

I smile softly,

because envy is a shadow that reveals more about their fears than anyone else.

Some people wrap themselves in victimhood,

telling themselves life has cheated them,

that the world owes them light.

I see them struggle, trapped in their own stories,

pointing outward instead of looking inward.

Being a victim can be a shelter, yes,

but it can also dim your own fire.

I wish I could show them

that their struggles are real,

but they do not have to define them.

We are all here to add light, fragrance, and music to each other’s lives.

In this fast-moving world, where moments drift like falling leaves,

everyone is building from zero to hero.

Nothing blooms overnight.

Every person carries a story of pain, a harsh story,

struggles that shaped them like rivers carving canyons.

Some walked through storms, fell, and rose again.

Seeing someone shine does not diminish you.

It mirrors your own potential, your capacity for growth.

Their victories are not threats;

they are lanterns guiding your path.

Whenever I see someone greater than me,

more radiant, more successful, more powerful,

I feel genuine joy.

I celebrate them,

because their light elevates mine.

The joy I feel for them spreads like ripples in still water,

returning to me through the universe.

If you feel stagnant, lost, or unseen, shift your gaze.

Master your lane.

Celebrate others’ success.

Their rise can inspire, teach, and fuel your own journey like wind filling your sails.

If someone rises near you and you try to whisper absurd things behind their back,

or attempt to harm them in any way,

your own people will step away at the right time.

Those winners never gave up during their fiercest storms.

Your jealousy does not touch them.

It only teaches you compassion if you look beyond comparisons.

Relax.

Sip your favourite tea, coffee, juice, or even just water.

Bloom quietly in your own sunlight.

Laugh softly at the human comedy, like petals dancing in the breeze.

Celebrate success around you,

and your own success will follow.

Seeing another’s glow dims nothing in your own.

It is fuel, not fire.

We are all flowers in the same garden,

each rooted in different soil.

Some bloom slowly, some quickly.

Some struggle to survive frost and drought, some bask effortlessly in the sun.

But every flower adds to the tapestry of beauty.

Focus on your growth.

Let others shine.

Love quietly.

Laugh softly.

Bloom boldly.

Remember, jealousy is never about you.

It is a mirror reflecting someone else’s fears, insecurities, and unfinished stories.

Being a victim is part of the story, but not the whole story.

See it.

Understand it.

Release it.

Rise like the morning sun.

Shine like stars scattered across the night sky.

Love quietly.

Bloom beyond the petty flames of envy and the chains of self-victimhood.

Let the world see your light.
