THE RADIANCE OF THE INSTANT
The stillness of bliss is not sought,
not pursued nor begged,
it dwells in the fragrance of dahlias,
in the purity of white jasmine,
in the secret voice of roses.
I do not crave laurels nor crowns,
the sky’s bursting blue is enough,
to pronounce the sacred name
of my children and universe…
to find refuge in the embrace
of those I love.
I am return to my roots,
caress of the wind and lungs,
rain that wets the soul,
crystal that rejuvenates what I am.
To be alive in wonder is to exist,
the ritual of shared coffee,
the conversation that ignites friendships,
the perfume of flowers,
the laughter multiplied in company.
Gestures minimal to the eyes of the world,
colossal on the map of the heart,
where happiness reveals itself,
a miracle that immortalizes morality.
?WHAT DOES HAPPINESS SMELL LIKE
Happiness, sparkle of a smile,
purified weeping of the soul;
a hand extended to the void,
a smile, threshold of the heart.
Sigh of rain, flowers and sun,
melody that embraces your silences,
essence guarded by the roses,
voice of children filling the house,
root that germinates toward life.
Happiness exists, resounding Galatea,
with the scent of earth and dew;
it ignites the forests of the jungle
and pours into the immensity of the sea.
I bless life for its sacred walk,
wise gifts and divine breath,
each instant is a miracle born,
each breath, a hymn of gratitude.
BIOGRAPHY.
Bertha Galán (Potosí, Bolivia) Poet, writer, and educator residing in Santa Cruz de la Sierra. She holds a degree in Communication and Languages, with a specialization in Literature, and has furthered her training with diplomas in Higher Education, Educational Management, and Digital Platforms. Her work has been recognized in national and international competitions, and she actively participates in fanzines, magazines, and anthologies from the Americas, Europe, and Asia. Author of the book Luces en el Horizonte (2022), she is preparing the publication of her poetry collection La Rosa de los Vientos. She collaborates with educational media and cultural projects, promoting the written word as a root of identity.
