Ahcène MARICHE/the man who speaks little

I am…
I am the man who speaks little,
But weighs each of his words,
For silence is sometimes more precious
Than a thousand speeches without an echo.
I am the one who chases no one,
Neither looks nor applause,
I walk with a soul that resonates,
And I let my accomplishments speak.
I am the one who protects his peace,
As one protects a flame in the night,
For I have learned, after so many harsh winds,
That serenity is life’s greatest treasure.
I am the man who acknowledges his mistakes,
Who hides neither his falls nor his wounds,
I have made teachers of my failures,
And armor of my scars.
I am the one who carries a mission,
Sometimes greater than his own desires,
I do not measure love by possessions,
But by what it teaches us to become.
I am the one who remains standing
When the walls around him collapse,
I may tremble, I may know doubt,
But deep within me, I keep a steadfast strength.
I am the one who respects women,
Without worshiping them as idols,
Without putting them down to elevate himself,
For respect is the noblest word.
I am the one who does not announce his worth,
I wear no label upon my forehead,
A tree heavy with fruit does not shout its greatness,
Its fruits speak of its name.
I am the one who builds in silence,
Stone by stone, far from the noise,
I prefer patience to appearances,
And results to promises made in the night.
I am the one who never begs
For what he truly deserves,
I would rather lose a place, a hand, a palace,
Than lose my dignity for a moment.
I am a man, with my strengths and weaknesses,
With my victories, mistakes, and regrets,
I do not claim to be made of wisdom,
But each day I try to become better.
I am sometimes tired behind my smile,
Sometimes wounded behind my silence,
I have known departures, falls, and madness,
And I have learned to transform suffering into strength.
I am the one who forgives, but does not forget
The lessons life has taught him,
I can extend my hand one last time,
But I also know when it is time to walk away.
I am the one who does not need to be admired,
Nor to be at the center of every conversation,
I would rather be genuine than celebrated,
And keep my soul far from the vanity of passions.
I am the one who knows the value of time,
Who no longer wastes it on quarrels,
For life passes as the wind passes,
And every second is a pearl.
I am the one who chooses his battles,
Who does not answer every provocation,
For the lion does not come down from his wall
To answer the barking of little dogs.
I am the one who moves forward quietly,
Even when no one believes in his path,
I have learned that dawn belongs to the one
Who works in the shadows until morning.
I am the one who no longer tries to convince
Those who have decided not to understand,
For some truths cannot be overcome,
And some hearts do not want to listen.
I am the one who keeps his heart human
In a world that has sometimes grown cold,
I can be strong without becoming cruel,
And powerful without crushing those beneath me.
I am the one who knows that true greatness
Is measured neither by money nor by power,
But by the nobility hidden in the heart,
By the way one remains standing in the dark.
I am the man I build each day,
With my dreams, doubts, and struggles,
I do not seek to appear great before the crowd,
I simply seek to be worthy of myself.
And if one day you ask me:
“Who are you, you who walk alone?”
I will simply answer:
I am a man.
Not perfect, but responsible.
Not invincible, but standing.
Not superior, but aware of my worth.
Not without wounds, but unashamed of my scars.
I chase no one.
I beg for no place.
I claim no throne.
I build.
I respect.
I fall.
I rise again.
I learn.
I move forward.
And when my work speaks for me,
I will no longer need to say who I am.
For a man’s true worth
Is not proclaimed:
It is recognized.
