Free as the winds /Djina Dundova-Pancheva/Bulgaria

Free as the winds
I, a wave like the winds,
as if I were glowing with my love,
the night draped over me in vain
and delicate as a flower.
I stumble through the streets
through a jumble of memories and sketches,
I am enveloped by the scent of lime blossom,
it is very quiet all around.
And I hear only my footsteps
echoing on the pavement.
I’m walking towards you, no, I’m not dreaming…
I drank the magic potion.
After just a few sips, look,
I’m staggering again as if drunk.
In the bottle of existence
there’s no room left for anything else.
Hubble’s theory
Our planet spins madly,
having sheltered life in its blue womb,
while somewhere far away a comet flies,
with the strength to reach the Sun.
Its long body is made of dust and ice,
its tail glows in the darkness.
Illuminated by the Sun’s proximity,
it glides very quietly over the Earth.
The universe is expanding, according to Hubble,
galaxies illuminate the darkness,
growing ever further apart,
the stars seem to grow lonelier.
And in the darkness, the cosmic abyss
silently expands into the night.
Stellar matter scatters
into infinity like embers.
And perhaps we too, like it,
growing ever more distant from one another,
speechless before the wonder of this world,
and the loneliness lasts for all eternity.
