The Stone Gate / Dr. Lee Hye – Seon

The Stone Gate
Along the mountain ridge,
now and then, I catch glimpses of the hems of children’s clothes.
A god opens its eyes.
A bird has blossomed into a flower of the night.
In the night forest, always,
one or two leaves at a time, the leaves of song fall, and petals fall.
Tomorrow, a jangseung, the village guardian,
will open the stone gate.
The Tree of Your Dreams
A koi, a colored carp,
grows no more than eight centimeters in a fishbowl
But set it free in a stream,
it grows without limit, like your dream tree.
