Poetry is one of the oldest forms of expression of human civilization, which was introduced even before the beginning of the world. It is certainly perfect. Basically, it is an artistic and wise offering to highlight the diversity of human expression. Humans express their erudition and wisdom through their speech style and the artistry of their words, inventing a very different technique in words and pens, which gradually, in the development of human civilization, those diverse words and lines written in similes are continuously named as poetry. In the course of time, poetry has become an essential and inseparable part of art and world culture in the evolution of human civilization. In Muslim civilization too, we find many clear identities, including poet Imrul Kayes, poet Hassan Ibn Thabit, poet Labid. After this, we see the poets Jalaluddin Rumi, Iqbal, Hafiz, the great poet Alaol, Khayyam, then the world poet Rabindranath Tagore, the rebel poet Kazi Nazrul, and our Al Mahmud, whose fair wanderings on the road of poetry we see, from that value, I would say that poetry is a different and exceptional art. In a word, poetry is an innate art of the poet that never allows a poet to remain still. The brain has thousands of neuron cells whose job is to wander the lines of poetry, which continue to revolve in the cycle of cells until they are born.
Sometimes poetry descends in the rain of Ashadh – in the evening or in the busy atmosphere of the morning, the petals of the rose that bloom spread their beautiful fragrance in an instant. Sometimes the huge waves of the ocean crash into the poet’s brain, and sometimes the feet of poetry become a drop of water on the sand in the desert. A complex equation is created by creating a hollow fold in the mind and throwing away the complex equation.
Both the poet and the poem are two different types of brains. The poet opens the door to his world of thought and the poem, having walked through all the great ages and emerged with the excitement that had disappeared in the storm of planetary transition, settles in the server of the poet’s brain. The connecting lines of sound and rhythm are gathered one by one, and the feet of the poem are continuously built.
The poet and the poem are witnesses of time, people find time within the poet and the poem, even though thousands of years have passed, the roots of civilization that people find, the golden past, everything sways at the feet of the poem and people regain their existence and the current flow of the golden past, then the combination of people and civilization creates the ingredients for building the future.
Therefore, when people in the great age feel the crisis of their existence and reality, they find the nobility of poets and poetry in their private feelings, where they find the inimitable technique of awakening anew, those disabled people and generations who are drowning in the millstone of worries are immersed in poetry, dreaming in the unique philosophy and land of creation of the poet.
In that way, I would say that a poet becomes a poet only when he understands the present of his time and reality, and embraces life and the philosophy of life at the feet of poetry. Only then does he become a poet. Poetry is a matter of innate and inimitable thinking power, it is not just a matter of inner harmony or a huge tree that has to be planted by force. Poetry is a wonderful gift that is incarnated in a real poet.
The diverse aspects of life flowing in the cycle of time, where happiness, sadness, laughter, tears, love and dislike, above all, feelings of love, create a beautiful structure in the soil of a poet’s brain. The poet builds the diverse stages of poetry by coating them in that structure. This is where the identity of a poet is proven. Poet scholars give the poetic narrative.
In the current digital age, we often notice that many so-called poets have a merciless touch of artificiality in their poems. For example, copying a poet’s writing exactly, or creating poetry based on chat GPT or AI, which is truly reprehensible and a shameless act that darkens and corrupts the world of poets and poetry. You can take advantage of technology, but since you are writing poetry, it is probably your duty to know the structure, imagery, and rhythm of poetry. But instead of doing that, if you are expressing it by copying technology exactly, I would say that you are wasting the minimum knowledge in yourself and destroying your latent talent.
To quote two lines from the poet’s language, “Why do you speak like a bird when you learn from another person’s mouth?
Why do you imitate another person’s posture and walk like a knot?”
Nowadays, we hear a lot of poetry in jhalas, we see poetry on digital platforms, and it is understandable to see someone’s poetry, such as the tendency of many people to express it by making their black lips red with lip polish. In some ways, those red lips are no longer red, they return to the color of the new moon just like before with the caress of water. The poetry of a poet is the same, writing by copying someone exactly, changing some words this way and that, and taking the ruined shape of the poem, is not the character of a real poet who is busy with the rapid spread of electricity. Copying poetry, chat GPT or AI-based poetry is just as ugly as polished lips. Its true form emerges in the flow of time.
First of all, I said that poetry is an innate and wonderful ability given by the Creator. Keeping that innate characteristic and ability in mind, one should try to devote oneself to the practice of poetry. One must have this kind of mentality, otherwise, please do not come to compose poetry.
After having this much, the rest of a poet’s time, meditation and concentration in solitude continuously make the poet a true poet .
