EARTH NEEDS OUR HELP
Despite vast improvements in the quality of life in the nations,
Global temperature and weather conditions experience fluctuations.
Earth struggles to handle increased demand for natural resources.
Climate change affects all, and we must bear the consequences.
*
We must first understand climate change before we can control it.
Climate is not the same as weather, but they are both related.
Climate determines temperatures and meteorological phenomena.
Due to this relationship, we face weather extremes and disasters.
*
Humankind keeps cutting down and burning tropical rainforests.
They do this to construct buildings and for agricultural purposes.
Deforestation impacts global climate, as forests cool Earth’s surface.
Tropical rainforests are necessary to prevent global warming.
*
Burning fossil fuels for electricity, heat, industry, and transportation;
Deforestation, chemical fertilizers, and industrial pollution
Increase the concentration of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere,
Climate change is directly linked to these actions by humans.
*
Humankind, in turn, is negatively affected because of the above.
Rising temperatures, declining rainfall with sudden intense bursts,
Rises in sea levels, floods, landslides, heat waves, and drought
Cause extreme reactions and impact social and economic systems.

THE GLOBAL IMPACT OF EL NINO
El Niño is a phenomenon with varying climate patterns.
It warms the Pacific Ocean and triggers spikes in temperatures.
It causes droughts in regions of Africa, Australia, and the Americas.
Droughts reduce crop yields and cause rising food prices globally.
*
El Niño transfers massive amounts of heat into the atmosphere.
Trade and supply chains are disrupted by reduced water levels.
It constrains traffic on shipping routes, as the Panama Canal.
Slow global trade results in millions of dollars in damages.
*
Energy and utilities are affected by heatwaves and weakened monsoon rains.
El Niño deprives small fish of food, damaging harvests and reducing income.
Disease outbreaks, like dengue fever, cholera, and Rift Valley fever, could occur.
Countries need to prepare themselves for this phenomenon called El Niño.

STOP THE FLOW OF PLASTIC WASTE
We must teach our children the dangers of plastic on the planet.
The beaches are littered with plastic because of careless habits.
It’s time to change how we produce, consume, and dispose garbage.
To avoid environmental, social, economic, and health consequences.
*
People purchase a million plastic bottles every minute worldwide.
Every year, up to five trillion plastic bags are used worldwide.
Half of all plastic produced is used just once and discarded.
Plastics, including microplastics, should not be in the garbage.
*
From 1950 to 1970, only a small amount of plastic was produced.
Plastic waste was manageable, but production has now tripled.
The world produces about 400 million tonnes of plastic waste yearly.
36 percent is used in packaging, and 85 percent ends up in landfills.
*
Freezer bags, food film, chip bags, microwave dishes, plastic cups,
Containers, caps, face masks, cutlery, plates, and cigarette butts.
Plastic trays, shampoo, water, and milk bottles are disposables.
Plastic releases toxic chemicals, and we should switch to reusables.
