OCEANS AND GLOW / Dr. Nancy Denniss-SYDNEY

I watch you wake an ocean away
While quiet whispers start the day.
A world apart across the sea
Is where our secret hours begin.
The glass between us grows so warm
As if it knows the love it bears;
I touch the screen you lean right in
And for a moment you are there.
No vows are spoken to the world
No crowed rooms can see this light
Just your soft voice across the miles
Defying distance through the night.
The years I spent within the cold
Have melted to a tender grace;
My quiet heart has come alive
Inside the glow of your dear face.
I do not ask for morning light
Nor golden rings upon the wall;
It is enough to hold this grace
And love you softly through it all.
