Are worlds apart,
One setting,
The other on the rise.
Being good belongs to
The obscure world of the past
While we wallow in the brave
New world of the looking good.
Beauty is a charm
Which now stands externalized
With the ‘look good, feel good’
Factors trending high.
There is no necessity to be good
Looking good is the new normal
Say good bye to everything
That smacks of being good
Beauty is not skin deep
It has more to it
Than just a beautiful skin.
But the world appears to be in mortal sin.
Beauty and truth stand
Eternally divorced
Beauty is now a construct
Imposed on truthless bounties.

Poets who believed in truth is beauty
And beauty truth are treated
Like heretics, and
Hounded out of syllabus books.
