The Blind Time By Salim Elias Madalo

The blind time seeps
From the ribs,
in a ceaseless struggle
against desire.
And the flame of candles
illuminates the worn-out
Frequencies and the corners
stifled by the language
of doubt and fear.
There is no chance no chance at all—
to speak of
the dissolution of the salt
of truth in the sighs
of veins and arteries;
for the language of the heart knows
the meaning of joy,
the meaning of music,
and of fidelity and loyalty
The Blind time leaks
From the ribs,
But the eye of the soul
knows that luminous wisdom
Lies within
the folds of the mind,
The spirit, and emotion.
