“My Companion in Love… ”
By The writer Dr. Hakima Djadouni – NinarEskila
Niroz…
My companion in love… I am a lover,
Longing boils and bursts like a cover.
A spring of dreams through my soul flows,
Rippling the calm where my passion grows.
It pricks the heart, exhausted but bright,
Flaring with sparks of tender delight.
I return at dawn to yearning’s shore,
Breathing sighs—my heart wants more.
I am a lover… with banners I rise,
Carved from lightning and truth that never dies.
My words had thrones, yet found no place
But your heart—my life’s green grace.
My companion in love… I am a poet,
In dreams I see you, though I may not show it.
I seek you in wakefulness, in cries unspoken,
As if my alphabet gasped, broken.
No tongue of lovers can suffice me,
I rest in silence where letters entice me.
The mirror of my world holds sorrow,
Stars in my chest rise with each tomorrow.
I see you a sun—when you fade from my skies,
Darkness suffocates, and joy denies.
Grief clings close in poetry’s guise,
While doubt breathes deep behind my eyes.
From ancient wombs, love took its root,
Where tears bloom wild, and wounds take shoot.
You planted in me a living fire,
Books were born—scattered, entire.
My pain wrote stories beyond the ages,
While I dueled time on longing’s stages.
Cruelest fate: to love so true,
To forgive, while desire wildly grew.
My companion in love… I bleed unseen,
From depths where sorrow reigns serene.
From that first execution’s cruel blow,
Where poets of love were felled below.
No map I hold, no path to follow,
But your right hand, where I find tomorrow.
My companion in life… I remain a lover,
Lit by intentions, like stars that hover.
All eyes shamed by the light I bring,
I’m a flame for poets, a burning spring.
Lava of yearning in me flows,
And birds in my heart find soft repose.
If you heard the hush of my sigh,
You’d weep with tongues that testify.
Words from depth and ache arise,
Poems carved in tearful skies.
My companion… with love I roam,
Through time’s embrace, far from home.
Each second I melt in a sacred shrine,
Your face—a thousand ecstasies mine.
Beloved… my soul’s sweets are lost,
In whispered winds where dreams are tossed.
And when I return to solitude’s bed,
Only your name beats in my head.
As if your name was born from my hand,
A rhythm my heart can’t withstand.
Outside all minds, it pulses, wild—
The soul’s lone voice, softly beguiled.
Deep within, unmatched feelings stay,
Even smiles taste you and sway.
Each joy now is marked and worn,
By your perfume, in silence born.
My companion in sorrow… grief’s last drum,
Oh, if life would let love come!
Each bird asleep on hope’s high crest
Turns round your charm, unrested, blessed.
For years I’ve wondered at my fate:
Am I here, or lost at longing’s gate?
Or did my pen in nostalgia drown,
Writing joy, while I wore sorrow’s crown?
My companion… the whirl returns,
Loneliness spins, and my heart yearns.
Centuries of summer never rained,
While my soul in complaint remained.
My pen no longer dares to write,
Nor does the poem reach its light.
I, the wounded in quiet disguise,
Hold only tears beneath clouded skies.
I was robbed a thousand ways,
While deception’s letters remain ablaze.
Between one love and the next, I strayed,
Even death could not have me laid.
As if I’m a mailbox of love’s despair,
Neither embraced nor given care.
Memories burn in both my hands,
A fire watched by distant lands.
My beloved… your face, a sacred verse,
A garden in this barren universe.
Your scent is breath in sighs released,
An oriental breeze where hearts find peace.
Two suns within your eyes appear,
They toss silk handkerchiefs on my fear.
Dawn sings with your gentle call,
Your yearning makes the strongest fall.
Spells compete in your domain,
On sacred tablets—beyond explain.
Yet I read wisdom beneath each stone,
While time burns love, and I walk alone.
Your eyes decree—unyielding fate:
My verses in prison shall await.
In love’s cell I’m meant to dwell,
Loving you while memories swell.
My companion in tears… I am the wound,
Forgive my silence, the truths marooned.
Pardon my fatigue in forgetting grace,
For love is madness, time can’t replace.
Extend your fingers to touch my page,
Come close—love isn’t bound by age.
This is my name, forever booked:
A lover… by love itself rebuked..
