Their Own Path/Ana May -Russia

Their Own Path
They must walk their long path.
They will travel far, and
some will find their own corner.
And some will be rejected —
struck by the word of critics.
They will pass through victories and falls,
through the vast stream of readers’ eyes.
Let inspiration flow through me in waves,
covering me completely.
Beneath my speech
a sleeping bud will bloom.
My speech will be enriched by a diversity of sounds
that will lie together in the stanza.
Through me will pass various objects and images.
The architecture of words in my head
will build its own
poetic house.
Then my poems will do what they must.
The Actor of Your Own Life
Hello, my friend —
woven from mistakes!
Let’s go where it will be frightening,
where you won’t feel the ground beneath your feet.
You’ll ask: why?
Then you’ll add: I no longer
want to make mistakes.
All for the goal you were walking toward.
And there will be many hardships. It must be so.
Your goal will lead you to
the final path. Then
you’ll step even further.
Do you know what you need?
Persistence, faith — and again
persistence and faith.
At some point you’ll grow tired,
and it will seem to you
that everything has lost its meaning.
And in this lies the secret of strength.
Even if you’ve fallen,
dust off your knees and rise.
Perform the evolution of yourself,
acting in spite of
obstacles, stones, splashes
of evil words
that will fly at you.
Remember that there…
At the end of your path,
your dream awaits you.
For your own sake —
and only for your own sake —
you do this. And I
will congratulate you
on every small victory.
Farewell, my friend —
woven from victories!
It is no longer frightening.
Now you feel the ground beneath your feet.
