LETTER TO THE MOON
Dear Moon,
With the starlight’s whispered secrets,
I write in celestial ink.
At the threshold of your heart,
I linger without a key.
Is this my sin?
I surrender to the mist’s gentle grasp,
Fading like a droplet in the pool of my tears,
As heaven and angels plead my cause.
On love’s fragile canoe,
I drift toward your tender heart.
Buried in clouds,
My face hidden beyond Earth’s edge,
I recall a vow born before time,
Before man saw nature’s
beauty,
Before light, I basked in your glow.
Through darkness and dawn,
I promised to shine my beam of love
And trust at your face.
As our hearts entwine in romance,
children and birds will sing,
Adorning your golden crescent.
With cosmic emotion
bridling love like jasmine,
I’m with you in eternal joy.

Be firm like oak against the storm
Fan the ember of your burning desire
Be the master
Of your evolving world
Set your focus
Beyond the cloud
And leverage your thinking
Beyond the speed of light
Be you
And unleash the self
Buried within thyself
Be the Eagle
At the sky of thought
Walk the horizon
At the path of the moon
And make a hay
While the Sunshine
Lean not on gravity
Neither on shoulder of men
Nor on Nature
Who owes no man a dine
Along this circle of existence
Called life
Soothe your soul
At the ambiance of time
And reflect light
When darkness ravages.

Aminu Femi Jamiu is a teacher, science laboratory technologist specializing in Biochemistry, global peace ambassador, literary icon, and multi-award-winning Nigerian poet and writer.
He hails from Ayegunle Gbede in Ijumu Local Government Area of Kogi State, Nigeria, and is recognized internationally for his contributions to literature and humanitarian service.
Aminu has co-authored several international anthologies, some of which have become bestsellers. He is the Founder and Director of the International Literary Forum, Home of Global Writers (HGW), a platform dedicated to connecting and empowering writers across the world.
