A Kind Of Blue by Richard C. Bower

He gently led her into the bedroom, their footsteps soft against the floorboards. As she moved, he watched, his gaze never leaving her. There was a quiet reverence in the way he observed her, as if she were a work of art – his mind capturing every detail, every shift in her posture.
His fingertips lingered through her hair -wild, untamed, yet somehow perfect in its disarray. It was a vision seared into his mind, one that grew clearer when her eyes met his, locking in a shared understanding that needed no words.
Outside, the moonlight streamed through the Victorian window, bathing them in its silvery glow. It highlighted the curve of their bodies as they came together, their skin radiant with life. Her breath caught in her throat as she was pulled back onto the fresh linen sheets, their softness contrasting with the intensity of the moment. It was as though time had paused, and in that fleeting instant, innocence was freed – untethered, reaching beyond the room, beyond the walls. A sensation that would stretch through the night, unbroken and endless.
He thought of the last time he saw her, their slow, quiet stroll through the park. The weather had been uncertain, the sky heavy with rain, but when they walked together, the sun always seemed to find its way through the clouds, as if the world itself knew their union was enough to banish the storm.
There was a deeper meaning in this: the way life unfolded around them, subtle and beautiful, like a delicate metaphor only they could understand.
That night, he fell asleep holding her close, the weight of her warmth anchoring him. As he drifted into dreams, he imagined himself reading the poetry of his thoughts to her – how her scent inspired every word, every line, every texture he conjured. He could almost hear her laughter in the rhythm of his verses as he embraced her, his arms wrapped around the poetry of her being…
“I crave your mouth, your voice, your hair
Silent and starving, I prowl through the labyrinth visions in my mind
You are always to be found in there
The empty streets do not nourish me, the naked light of day disrupts me; casting shadows on life’s bitter-paved walkway
I long for the synchronized measure
To waltz inside, and step in time with the fluid rhythm of your steps
I hunger for your physical and emotional union, to hear and share each laugh
Your eyes harvest a hunger, the golden touch of your hand, as my mind begins to wander –
I want to eat you, devour and touch the mere surface of your skin
The gentle softness, pure and Natural, each heart felt breath within
I want to feel the sunlight undressing your body, the wholesome warmth, the sophistication and the beauty
The class that you carry;
A knowledge of mind, one that compliments mine
I want to tease the noticeable desire, to feel the mutual volcanic eruption
To burn in the shade of your lashes
Pulsating, my heart beats with a pounding
It races, keeping afloat in the ocean
Thumping, deep, in forever expansive Blue waters
Internally I’m enraptured
Eternally I am captured
Hungry, although now smiling
The twilight, for you, I give for your heart
Come – as you are
Like a cat in the night, you shine
All raven bright
I want you
Each and every night”
He closed his eyes, allowing the warmth of his senses to envelop him, each breath a quiet indulgence. The very thought of her – her eyes, so deep and captivating – consumed him. It was a sweetness only found in moments like this, so intimate, so close, where nothing existed but the feeling of her presence.
She trembled slightly, caught off guard by the playful edge in his voice. His lips pressed gently to the nape of her neck, a tender kiss that spoke volumes. All the noise of the world – its worries, its demands – seemed to vanish as if they were forgotten outside the window, swallowed by the night air.
When it came time for her to leave, he watched her, unwilling to let go of the moment. She moved gracefully, the wind catching her hair, letting it flow behind her like a living, breathing entity. Each strand seemed to have a life of its own, framing her face in a way that could have been painted by the hands of an old master. She was a portrait of Natural beauty – both wild and serene.
In that instant, time seemed to stand still. They were suspended between two worlds – the warmth of the sun and the cool embrace of the moon. Without a word, he reached for her again, pulling her back into his arms. The sheets tumbled from the bed, and in the chaos of their passion, they found each other once more. Their embrace was urgent, a sweet, lucid dance – lost in the dream of the moment, where nothing existed but them…
“I close my eyes
And in that second I dream of you
In the early morning hours
As the day enters the soul
Surrounded by peace and quiet
The whole world sleeps
As mine is re-energized, it comes alive;
Poetic
Shake dreams from your hair
Sweet Lucid daydream
To hear my love breathe with the ocean
To ebb and flow with the tide”
I remember the kisses, our eyes shut as our lips met blindly, full of raw, untamed passion. Sensual and unrefined, we surrendered to each other’s touch, discovering each other for the first time.
I remember the gentle softness as my fingers brushed against your skin, and ventured up your thigh… the delicate touch almost imperceptible. The golden sunlight filtered through the window, teasing us with its warmth, casting a breath-taking vision of you that left me speechless.
I gasp as reality settles in, the day suddenly alive with your presence. You gaze at me, and in your eyes, I see a beauty and warmth that brings everything into sharp focus. There’s an intensity there, an unspoken connection that pulls us both deeper. Our embrace picks up the rhythm of the night, our bodies moving together in a perfect harmony, and as the sunlight floods the room, it ignites a passion that awakens us both.
I hold you close, feeling you deep within me as we lie together, the morning light casting a golden glow across your skin, illuminating the wild, beautiful tangle of your hair. The room seems to come alive around us, filled with the quiet intensity of the moment. You rest in the secure comfort of my arms, and everything feels perfectly still.
Our bodies, tangled from the night, breathe together in a shared harmony – your leg over mine, your arm wrapped around me, your smile mirrored in mine, and the warmth that binds us. As you sleep, I whisper sweet dreams into the space between us, and as I drift off, I hold tightly to the girl who has become the very dream I never want to wake from.
