THE SECOND BLOOM OF POETRY – Dedicated to “International Poetry Day” 21.03.2026: Fali Ndreka

We are in Lagomaggiore, precisely in the city of Arona,

where various citizens usually take their walks during the day, to relax with the stunning view of the Lake and the other beauties that nature has blessed this place and the hand of man has created here for years.

Nearby, we meet the director of the library of this city, Mrs. Alessandra Salvini, who was placing mini posters, in which she had written the most beautiful poems of various Italian and European authors, from beginners to those most heard such as: Cesare Pavese, Gianni Rodari, Jacques Prévert, Oscar, etc. with a special dedication to “International Poetry Day.”

And those posters are not there were few, but a quantity of 900 pieces, carefully decorated,

placed in the trees, among their flowers, which looked like a real postcard.

In such a visible and quite comfortable position, where all the people who passed by could read them.

All this, thanks to the extraordinary gesture and dedication by Alessandra Salvini, dedicated to the international poetry day.

It naturally occurred to me to ask her: “How could she realize this event so beautiful, sensitizing for the citizens and so practical, to bring in a completely different way, the most beautiful poems close to the reader and

at the same time to connect in the most found possible way, and with creativity the reader with the author, as well as at the same time the natural beauty, the greenery, the flowers and the lake, with that spiritual side, which are the poems.

This was precisely what was realized in this place frequented by local citizens, the surrounding area and mostly from the city of Milan and many tourists from Europe and the whole world.

Alessandra explains with her wisdom and gentleness characteristic of a true intellectual that: “I appreciate poetry this way, firstly it has blossomed in the soul of poets … when they created them and secondly, when poetry, or any other artistic creation, enters the soul of the reader, of different citizens.

Therefore, she said, I thought and organized this important event as a “second blossoming of poetry.”

Thinking that poetry truly then functions for the purpose for which it was created, to reach the mind and soul of people.

So that poetry does not sleep inside the book and on the shelves of the library, such effective and practical actions must be taken not only by me but by all those who work and manage in libraries cities.

Poetry must awaken to liven up and flourish together with nature, to bring knowledge, relaxation, joy and satisfaction to people.

That is why I thought of this way of presenting and placing them, so that together with the spring flowering, let the poems of our wonderful poets also flourish.

The event continued further, attracting the attention of all citizens as well as the participation of the authors, who were accompanied together with enthusiasm and feeling the warmth and respect from the citizens, their readers for their beautiful creations.

Slowly, the activity was moving towards its culminating point and the final crowning, which marked the meeting of the readers with the authors who were there, invited and as a surprise for the readers.

The activity continued with a completely normal and joyful flow of activity, leaving behind unforgettable memories, like shared photos between authors and readers, contact notes between them.

But the icing on the cake were the recitations of the readers of the poems in the presence of their authors and groups of citizens who participated in this important and wonderful event.

An event, to be taken as the best example of the work that a librarian can do, as did Alessandra Salvini, a dedicated leader to her work in the civic library of the city of Arona. Dedicating herself to work with creativity as a servant of the people, of the readers, valuing books as the light of knowledge and that only through reading books, people can gain knowledge, and bring themselves and the nation forward.

Bringing this as a factual argument, against the declining trend of reading books and the use outside the limits of mobile phones and forms abusive and useless use of electronic technology, especially the internet and social networks.
