Courage Has Many Homes By Dr Haroon Rashid

44444 1 283x300 1

There is courage in marriage,
in placing one life beside another.
There is courage in calling
another heartbeat home.

Love is not only garlands,
photographs, and celebration.
It is responsibility, accountability,
kindness, and sincerity
in ordinary days.

There is courage in becoming parents
in a world full of storms.
In hiding fear
while smiling for a child.
In feeding, guiding, correcting,
protecting, and praying.
In knowing no arms
can protect them from every hurt.

There is courage
in parents who have only daughters,
and still stand against a world
that measures family with old prejudices.
There is courage
in parents who have only sons,
and teach them tenderness, respect,
responsibility, and emotional honesty.
There is courage
in parents who have both,
and try to love without comparison,
raise and protect each heart differently
but equally.

There is courage
in loving a child
not born from your body.

In raising children alone
with one tired heart.

In wanting children
and carrying silence with grace.

There is courage
in those who cannot become parents,
and still carry love
without a child to call their own.

In choosing a child-free life
and still giving love
to the world.

There is courage
in caring for the parents
who once carried you.
In staying
when love can still be repaired.
In forgiving, listening, apologising,
and rebuilding slowly.
In leaving
when staying becomes a wound.

There is courage
in choosing divorce too,
for it is not always defeat.
Sometimes it is final honesty.
Sometimes two people accept
that hurting each other
is not destiny.

And when children are involved,
courage becomes heavier.
They too carry stories
they never chose.
They too learn early
that love can change rooms
and still leave echoes behind.

There is courage in daughters
carrying expectations
with a smile on their face.
In sons who are told
to be strong
even when their hearts are breaking.
In daughters who are asked
to adjust endlessly.
In sons who are asked
to provide silently.
In every child
who learns too early
that love also means duty,
sacrifice, patience,
and sometimes unspoken pain.

There is courage
in waiting for love
without lowering your worth.
In remaining single
by choice, awareness, peace,
and self-respect.
In not marrying
only because society is watching.
In not becoming a parent
only because society has a script.

A complete life
does not borrow
society’s definition of completion.

People bloom in marriage,
after loss,
and in solitude.
They carry rings, children,
memories, silence, wounds,
and dreams.
Still, no path is smaller
when lived with dignity.

Courage has many homes,
many seasons,
many faces.

Sometimes the bravest life
is the one
that gives the heart
room to breathe.

So look again
before you call someone incomplete,
before you name their silence loneliness,
before you mistake their singleness
for emptiness,
their child-free life
for selfishness,
their divorce
for failure,
their waiting
for weakness,
or their staying
for fear.

Every life is carrying
a story the world cannot see.
Every choice has a wound,
a reason,
a prayer,
or a battle behind it.

There are people building homes,
and others rebuilding themselves.
There are people raising children,
healing the child within,
holding families together,
and learning how not to disappear
inside the names of family, duty, and love.

There are people walking with partners,
walking after separation,
and walking alone,
not because no one came,
but because they finally chose
not to abandon themselves.

So do not measure a soul
by marriage, children, age, gender, loss,
or the approval of a crowded room.

Measure it by its honesty,
its kindness,
its courage to survive
without becoming cruel,
and its grace
to let others live differently.

For no life is unfinished
only because it does not look like yours.
No heart is less sacred
because it found another road.

Perhaps the real question is not
why someone chose
a different path,

but why we were taught
to call only one road complete
when even the sky
has room for every bird,
every storm,
every prayer,
and every direction home.
